MS SQL 2008 r2 Datafile size increase history.

Hi All,

I wanted to know if there is a way to check the change history of increase in Datafile size on MS SQL Server 2008 r2, manually or otherwise.

Example when we have the DB size consumption almost full we tend to increase the Datafile sizes by logging to SQL Server Studio --> Right Click on Database name (sid) --> Properties --> Files and increase all datafile size by a particular size given there is space on respective disks. Is there a way where we can fetch the information when and by what size these datafile sizes were increased?

One more query is will there be any impact if we provide different datafile sizes eg if we have 4 datafiles namely Datafile1, datafile2 and so on. If 3 datafiles are of 20 GB and one is of say 18GB will there be any impact on SAP Application performance or any other impact?

Any inputs will be greatly helpful.
