Model database (Restoring...)
Hello,
I´m facing a weird problem. In SQL Management Studio I see that Model database is at restoring status, it tells that Model DB is in "Restoring" procedure! We can´t understand why this is happened!
How can I cancel this procedure, can I cancel this restoring? If so, how can I do it? It show me these information for a long time ago.
Can you help me please?

SAP B1 on MS SQL 2012 Cluster???
Dear All, we are trying to install SAP B1 9 PL5 on a MS SQL 2012 Cluster.
We have a separate set of servers for app & db.
The Cluster DB is on one set of physical servers and the application server (with license server) is on a different physical server. However, during installation, the Setup is unable to detect the MS SQL 2012 instance et all and even manual entry of the information has failed to connect.
Is this a workable solution or is MS SQL required to be installed on the same physical server where the application server is being installed?
Request the forum to provide with thoughts / advice pls?

Upgrade and Redundancy
Hi Expert,
We have a 3 tire SAP System (DEV,QAS and PRD),
we under Windows 2003 and SQl 2005 Environment,
We are upgrade our DEV & QAS Environment to Windows 2012 and SQL 2012,
We now plan to Upgrade our Production server also to the same (Win,SQL) 2012,
Also we want to make a redundancy server to Our production serve as (active to passive Or active to active) in anticipation of any database corruption because we face this problem in the first of this year.
What's the correct solution we can do it?
what's available material to help me to implement this solution?
what's the type of replication we can do?
How we can make a tow sap system work in the same DB on time?
Are anther sap instance on the new server will take the same name or not?
Summary i want to find a solution for no down time if database corrupted suddenly.

Backup and Log reduction scheduling in background
Hi Experts,
We need to schedule backup in weakly and monthly automatically. this is to replace new backup in weakly and monthly.
Weakly is deferential backup and monthly is full backup. and also we need log reduction automatically when it will reach more than 1GB.
please help me for this.

SQL Server Compression and Proportional Fill
Our SAP databases are on SQL Server 2012 I am sure you are familiar with proportional fill, we did a major reorg of our SAP databases to ensure this and also to distribute the database over multiple files to be able to take care of many CPU cores we have in our system.
We did reorg using R3Load and did a complete export/import of the databases and also used the new default page compression. Thus reducing our database size by upto 70%.
we were able to achieve this on all our systems over 20+ but GTS. in the GTS system, which is around 400GB in size, one table /SAPSLL/SPLAUD is over 180GB. Now when we try do a R3load export import, this table itself takes over 40hrs. We try the table split option in R3Load to export. but it will not split much and thus not reducing the R3load export/import time. We have no limitation on the number of CPU or the size of the resources we can throw on this one. we have put the source on a SSD and target on a FC drive but still the export and import time does not get below 35hrs total. this is an outage we cannot allow.
now this table is ever growing and eventually we will start seeing performance issues due to the distribution of the data across datafiles. Currently we have only 6 datafiles and 50% of data is occupied by this table, spread across these 6.
has anyone faced this before and can you advise on how we can handle this problem. I am looking for fastest way of being able to load/unload this table.
Apart from using R3load, is there any other supported way I can add more datafiles and spread this table across those without causing a downtime.
Adding a comment here:- we have considered archiving but this table has data which is audit related there is a big debate in progress with our legal and compliance team on when can we get rid of this or archive it and so it may not happen immediately.

ADS Configuration issue in HA cluster environment
Hi All,
We have HA cluster environment in which we have installed primary node, secondary node and additional application server. We have configured ADS in HA cluster but when we execute "fp_test_00" program in SE38 it throws "ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.Processin(200101)" exception. As well as RFC destination "FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>" in java system throws "Error during ping operation: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: Connection refused: connect" while we ping destination.
I have checked URL,Port and Logon data all information provided for RFC is fine. Please help me to resolve this issue.

SOFTWARE UPDATE MANAGER 1.0
Hi Guru's,
I have recently downloaded SUM 1.0 SP 10 here are the steps I followed
1. I went to service.sap.com/sltoolset
2. SL Toolset >> Software Logistic Toolset 1.0
3. Under System Maintenance -- Software Update Manager 1.0 -- <link> Download (SUM)<link>
4. after clicking download SUM, another window opens (SWDC)
5. then I clicked Software Update Manager 1.0
6. Then Support Packages & Patches appears then I clicked it
7. I chose the OS I'm running
The thing is, It showed me patches and not the actual installer.
Then I went to service.sap.com/swdc
Installation & Upgrades >> A-Z Index >> S >> SL Toolset >> SL Toolset 1.0 >> Installation
It showed me just 1 downloadable file CTS_Plug_200: Add-on Installation
I am lost. I cannot find the actual installer of SUM.
Please help!

Netweaver 7.00 upgrade to 7.01
Hi Guru's,
I need to upgrade my NW 7.00 to 7.01 to be able to perform client copy (Source client is at ECC 6.00 PL15 running in Netweaver 7.01 PL3), import & export releases must be on the same level, for sure all of you will agree.
I tried manually using tcode SAINT to install Add-on packages but it won't allow me to proceed. It says I should use the EHPI which is already replaced by SUM.
I tried using SUM but only to update SP Stacks of ECC 6.0. and it is successful.
There's no option there to upgrade Netweaver EHPs only without including EHP for ECC 6.0

Source Client -> SAP ECC 6.0 PL 15 / Netweaver 7.01 PL 3
Target Client -> SAP ECC 6.0 PL 15 / Netweaver 7.00 PL 18

How to identify which SQL statement contributes the largest percentage of wait time?
Hi experts,
I experienced a poor performance issue recently. Some queries ran more than 5X slower than before. I checked wait events and I found RESOURCE_SEMEPHORE occupies 35.142% in 6/1. Please see the screenshot 1 below. It is abnormal.
I drilled down wait events info and found it started at 6/1 6:00am. end of part 1 because some forum allows only two images per post.

Understanding DBA Cache Read
Dear team,
I need help for following.
As per the understanding; whenever any job/query is executed; most of the databases brings the data from physical files and put it into Database Cache.
Can you please let us know whether the data segment as well as index are copied when data is read from datafiles?
Also How come database engines knows whether requested data by any process (end user query to DB) is available in Cache. (this question may sound senseless but I do have doubt about it)

Short dumps and user not able to execute many tcodes
I have a strange issue
In my SAP system we had a issue, whenever user execute tcodes have error message " SQL error 21 while accessing program SAPMS380"
then immediately closing the screen
there is a series of short dumps for the same DBIF_REPO_SPQ_ERROR

SQL Server 2012 high number of SQL Sessions
Hi, We are using a 7.3 portal using ESS+UWL with sql server 2012 and sometimes (suddenly) we have a high cpu (99-100%) consumption by the sql process on the DB-Server of the Portal. In addition the number of sql-sessions increase heavily from normal 2-3 concurrent up to 400 or more until the end is reached (50 per server process?). Sometimes the problem is solved itself (head blocker SQL-session disappears) after half an hour or more, sometimes it is not solved and we have a system standstill.
The strange thing is, that this situation occurs sometimes at times of heavy load, sometimes on weekends or in the night, when the system is not busy at all.
Do you have any hint how to start analyzing the root cause when next time sessions and CPU usage rise up dramatically?

Delay processes and sm21 Operating system call connect failed error 115
Hello,
In the night we have usually problem with reprocessing interfaces arround 1 hour aprx.
Checking the system log on SM21, I usually see lot of errors:

SQL server suddenly shut down
Hi Friends,
We are using ECC 6 EHP 3 in Windows 2008r2 server with MSSQL 2005 .
And its running on 2 clusters .
Yesterday suddenly SAP was disconnected and DISP+WORK is went to gray status.for this we restarted the entire server .Now SAP is connecting and its working fine.
When ever we check for error log in sm21 Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256.
I want to know some information about this error.
At what time we will get this error.
What is the reason for this error .
how to fix this error.
As per my knowledge one of my friend try to change the password for SID user in MSSQL management studio. that time SAP is running.
Can any one help to find the reason for this error and let me know the effect of changing the SID password from SQL management studio while SAP application running time.
Please let me know any farther information required.
